In 2000, a 16-year-old young man walked into my office at the radio station applying for an intern
position we had open. In normal circumstances, I would never hire someone that young in this role, but
there was something different about this kid. He was not only mature way beyond his years, but he was
also someone that you just wanted to be around. Despite the challenges of hiring someone that young, I
decided he was someone I wanted to represent our brand. What a great decision that turned out to be!
Over the next twenty-plus years, Jake Jensen performed just about every role that radio stations have to offer, and he did them well. From the grunt work that his intern role required in the beginning, to being a charismatic on-air personality, a creative promotions director, and a detailed event planner and event management professional, Jake can handle ANYTHING that is thrown at him. He not only does the jobs well, but he does them with a smile on his face, even in the most stressful situations. In fact, it is in those situations that he performs best. His calm and cool demeanor keeps everyone around him in the same frame of mind, regardless of the chaos happening around him. In 2016, when I realized my dream of becoming the President of a seven-station radio group, there was only one choice for my VP of Promotions and Event Management. That same 16-year-old Jake Jensen who I hired back in 2000 was the guy I wanted representing me and my brands. The work we did together during that time is some of the proudest of my career. We executed major, award-winning concerts and events, we created innovative promotions that continue to be done even after both of us left the company, we raised tens of millions of dollars for local charities, and, along the way received praise and acknowledgment from almost every city Mayor all the way up to two different Governors of the great state of Utah. If I could sum up Jake in two words for you, they would be “HIRE HIM”. I promise you will not be disappointed!

"If you're trying to succeed with your festival, concert series, sporting event or whatever goal you have that involves thousands of people showing up and you realize that you can't quite win because you need various positions filled it maybe you don't know anything about marketing or maybe you simply need some consultation advice in regards to your event on how to get a mile out of an inch... Jake is a good start. Maybe you find yourself in a position to be executing an event or looking to have somebody oversee the advancement and planning of an event from a logistical standpoint or rather any standpoint of any kind.... Jake is a good start. I promise that you are not doing yourself a favor unless you call Jake. If you happen to be lucky enough to attain this man of many talents and many hats worn and he's available then Jake is the sort of guy that when he is hired and overseeing the duties of 1 hat (position), well, if needed he can wear 10 hats and give all 10 of those responsibilities his full 100% focus. Hell, he even loves doing that, and is worth every penny to take that on. Would I hire Jake to cover two positions at an event, yes. Would I hire him to cover 3,4,5,6,7 positions? Yes! Is that fair to others to have Jake take all the work? No, but my point is he will support and believe in any dream as long as you allow into the equation - his creative focus, input of any kind he dispersed and most importantly you allow his friendship into the circle because Jake at the end of the day does not work. He experiences with his friends and will tell you himself that it's not a job or a position you'll ever hate if you are doing it with your friends. Jake is who you should start with calling and who you should finish calling when the show is over to tell him thank you for the leadership and camaraderie he gave your event and most importantly tell him thank you for making sure you succeeded because that's the byproduct of Jake. Long story short - "When your festivals not putting out a big wake, maybe the call you need to make belongs to Jake!
